Publishing giant Activision has announced the latest in their hugely popular music series with Guitar Hero 5. The new title is not only getting all-new song and artists but a much cleaner look as well. Featuring bands like The White Stripes, Kings of Leon, The Rolling Stones, Santana and Johnny Cash, GH 5 will have 85 songs on it and 25 of the bands will be making their music game debut.
But the game also has some new interesting features for gamers as well. Now bands can be made up of any combination of instruments including two drummers, three guitar players, or whatever the players come up with. There are also new modes like Party Play and Rock Fest.
Guitar Hero 5 also enhances the art style and redesigns core features such as GHMusic Studio, making it more accessible for seasoned music gamers as well as first-time players. Other additions include Band Moments, where bands are rewarded for hitting special note streams together and song challenges where gamers are tasked to play through a song a specific way, add a new competitive layer of excitement and accomplishment to the music rhythm genre.
